Midsummer Event

June 22 at 1:00 pm to 11:00 pm

Hosted by the Ida Plainmen

Step into the enchanted land of Oak Spirit Sanctuary as the Ida Plainsmen invite you to join us for Midsummer on June 22nd! Amidst the ancient trees and sacred groves, we’ll gather to celebrate the zenith of the sun and the profound magic of the solstice.

At the heart of our festivities lies the solemn yet stirring ritual of Baldr’s Funeral, where we’ll honor the Norse god of light and purity. Join us in bidding farewell to Baldr and welcoming the gentle descent into twilight, as we honor the eternal cycle of life, death and rebirth.

Mid-afternoon, when the sun is at its hottest and brightest, our ritual culminates in the blazing brilliance of a mighty bonfire. In this sacred flame, we’ll infuse the universe with fire and light energy, symbolizing the eternal spirit of Baldr and invoking warmth and vitality to hold off winter’s chill for as long as possible.

In the spirit of Midsummer, we invite you to bring gifts for Baldr, tokens of love and reverence to honor the divine and we encourage you to bring messages for loved ones who have passed, offering notes of remembrance and connection across the veil.

Whether you come as a seeker of ancient wisdom or a curious soul drawn to the magic of the solstice, Midsummer at Oak Spirit Sanctuary promises an experience of profound connection, community, and reverence for the natural world.

Join us as we dance in the flickering light of the bonfire, weaving together threads of past and present, and celebrating the eternal journey of life and spirit.
